SleepMon
1. Overview
SleepMon is a behavioral sleep tracker that uses friction-based interaction (30-tap lock screen) to reduce phone use before bedtime. We collect the minimum data needed to make the app work and to improve it.
2. Data We Collect
Sleep & Activity Data
- Bedtime and wake-time settings you configure
- Caffeine and alcohol intake logs (drink type + amount you tap)
- Lock screen unlock events (tap count, time to unlock)
- Daily sleep summary (derived statistics, not raw)
Account Data (Optional)
- If you sign in: email address and OAuth provider ID (Kakao / Apple / Google)
- If you skip sign-in: an anonymous device-only UID
Health Profile (Optional)
- Gender, age, weight, health conditions — used locally to calculate your personalized caffeine and alcohol limits
- Stored on your device; not transmitted unless you opt into cloud sync
We Do NOT Collect
- Raw audio from the sleep-tracking microphone (only derived 2-stage Wake/Sleep result)
- Contact list, photos, location, calendar
- Payment card numbers
3. How We Use Your Data
- Personalize caffeine and alcohol intake limits based on your profile
- Trigger bedtime lock screen and wake alarm at scheduled times
- Generate daily sleep reports with metaphorical text (e.g., "Caffeine villain visited last night")
- Compute streak counts and progress visualization
- Send notification reminders 10 minutes before bedtime
4. Cloud Storage (Supabase)
If you sign in, we store the following data in our Supabase backend:
- Your user profile (gender, age, weight, sleep targets) — for cross-device sync
- Daily summary aggregates — for long-term trend analysis
- Anonymized event logs — for product improvement
Raw per-tap logs are deleted from the server after 7 days. Only daily summaries are retained long-term. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.

5. Sleep Audio Analysis (AsleepTrack)
SleepMon uses microphone-based breathing sound analysis via the AsleepTrack API to detect Wake/Sleep stages. Raw audio is processed in real time on your device and converted to derived stage data. Raw audio is never stored or transmitted to our servers. Only the derived stage results (Wake / Sleep) are kept.

6. Authentication
Sign-in is optional. Supported providers:
- Kakao Login (Korea primary)
- Apple Sign In (iOS App Store requirement)
- Google Sign In (Android primary)
- Email + password (fallback)
Without sign-in, all your data stays on the device. You can convert an anonymous account into a signed-in account later without losing data.
7. Advertising
Free users see banner and interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. Ads are restricted to non-sleep contexts only:
- Home screen during daytime use
- Sleep report screen after morning alarm
- Never during the bedtime lock screen overlay
- Never during alarm screens
AdMob may collect advertising identifiers (GAID / IDFA) per Google’s policy. You can reset or limit these identifiers in your OS settings.

9. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties for marketing. We use the following service providers strictly to operate the app:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- AsleepTrack — sleep stage detection (audio processed on-device)
- Google AdMob — ads for free-tier users
- Apple / Google / Kakao — OAuth sign-in (only if you choose to sign in)
10. Data Retention & Deletion
- Local data: uninstall the app to remove everything on your device.
- Cloud data (signed-in users): email orangeai.shoedog@gmail.com with your account email. Account and all associated data deleted within 5 business days.
- Raw event logs: automatically deleted after 7 days.
- Daily summaries: retained while your account is active.
11. Children’s Privacy
SleepMon is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We will update the Effective Date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced via in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
